Meet The Nurse
Joan Lapre is an honors graduate of The University Of Massachusetts, North Dartmouth Campus. She specialized in Intensive Care Nursing before moving to Arizona in 1981. Her Arizona career includes Indian Health Services, Medical-Surgical Nursing, Home Care Case Management, Patient Care Coordination and Hospice Home Care. Mrs. Lapre has been a school nurse for the Deer Valley School District for 3 years.
Joan grew up in New Bedford, Massachusetts, the "Whaling City". She is the second of 5 children. She has been married for 27 years to her husband. She has 3 grown children.
When she is out of the health center you can find her on a trail backpacking in the Grand Canyon or running her distance training runs (10-15 miles) on the McMicken Dam. Her first half marathom was the PF Chang Rock N Roll Marathon this past January. Her first full marathon will be in Tucson, 12/04.
